Default A little question about tire offset

So, I'd like to run a 35" tire after I install a 3" lift on my 2 door. Here's the rub...I absolutely positively cannot have my tire extend beyond the line of the fender flares. Is this possible while running factory fenders and wheels? I like the look of skinny tires, so that's a plus for me. Am I going to be forced to buy wider fender flares? If anybody is in the same situation and has found an answer, please let me know. Pics are always great!

(if you're curious, I can't run tires that extend beyond the body line because I'm a Police Officer and will catch hell for having a Jeep that doesn't pass inspection)

That being said....I have the stock Rubi rims/tires still on with 1.5" Spidertrax spacers and do not have any tread out......close though. That's a 4.75" BS If my math is correct.

Not sure how'd you squeeze a 35x12.5x17 under stock flairs with the correct BS and still pass....still trying to figure that out myself.

It would be in the Pennsylvania inspection Title 67
175.80
(e) [I][/Beneath the vehicle inspection.I] A beneath the vehicle inspection shall be performed as follows.
(1) Inspect the tires and wheels and reject if one or more of the following apply:
(ix) A tire's tread extends beyond the outer edge of the wheel housing inclusive of the fender flares.

Can't have any part of the tire extend beyond the flares/body line.

Touche' though my point here being that there are a a few guys that work in my department that like to write citations for tires extending beyond the body line. If I run my jeep like that then it will just create problems.

All I want is a 35/10.5 R 17 tire!
