Default LOD Midwidth Front Bumper Install Question...

For those who have this bumper, did you receive 2 bolts/nuts to attach the winch plate to the bottom surface of the bumper?

There are no instructions included with the bumper so the user is forced to online write ups for the install procedure. One write up mentions affixing the winch plate to the bumper's bottom surface with a bolt and nut on each side of where the winch sits. It says to tighten these bolts until the plate and bumper touch and then tighten no more. Another write up on project jk makes no mention of this step at all!

I didn't receive hardware with the bumper to do this step, so I am not sure what to do here...

I have this bumper but can't offer much help, sorry. I don't recall this being an issue. If someone doesn't chime in soon, give Chris a call at LoD. He is awesome to help. Get their # from google search or they are a sponsor on here as well.

I just installed this bumper yesterday, and it was shipped with hardware already assembled on the bumper (I also had no instructions). There are 8 bolts, 16 washers, and 4 narrow plates that attach to the front of the frame. There are also 2 bolts, 2 washers, and 2 nuts (with welded stops) that attach to the side of the frame.

I'll have to check to see how the winch plate is mounted to the bumper, but if I recall correctly it's just the 8 frame bolts. I can always take pictures if it would help.

Wait! I did take one picture:

This is a bad picture because it doesn't show the installed narrow plate, which goes between the winch plate and frame. I can go out and take better pictures if you think it would be helpful.

Found this excellent write-up! I think I'll go back and reverse my bolts.

Read step 2 (second pic of step 2) here to see what I am talking about, and it sounds like you did not get the hardware I am talking about either, BTW...

Disreguard step 2 that you are talking about, we havn't used those holes for a couple of years now. If you want you can put bolts in them but they are not needed. They are still programed in one of our lasers that cut the bumpers, so thats why they are there. Give us a call with any questions.
