Default Long arm input!

I知 interested in going to a long arm. I知 wanting to put a teraflex alpine long arm kit paired with a set of ORIs all around since the ORIs can be changed to different ride height does the arm length matter. Say I wanna try a 4inch left and then left it to 5.5 doable because of the ORIs would I have to change anything. I know I値l need to get my pinion angles if I do.

Have you talked to Jason at Rock Your 4x4? He seems sharp and he's just up the road from you. If nothing else, you could get his take on your thoughts. He's got big builds up there and if you're serious about parts, I know he's got extras sitting around, waiting for a buyer.

You are right, I thought about calling and asking. But, it痴 just a general question and don稚 think he would wanna be bothered by that question considering I知 just looking wanting to know the answer so I know what I want when I am ready. But he will probably be the one to do it when I am, I may ask him when I call to have my axles redone

There's a set of axles up there for sale now. I think he's also got tires and wheels to go with it. But I'm straying from the point. If you want long arms then go for it, but you should be doing reading up on everything else that goes with it. There was a guy just last week who is looking to move up and the ORI thing came up. That may be beneficial for you to read. The 4.5-5.5" height will elicit responses that you must be doing 40's or 42's and that you should consider a buggy instead. Read until your eyes bleed.

What are you looking to accomplish by going with your particular lift height? I don't have all of the goodies but I certainly read up on it to know how far I want to push my limits (jeep and bank account). Are you already sitting on large tires or are you making a plan to jump? A little background can help the group answer your questions.

I知 wanting to be on 40-42s in the end. This question has nothing to do with my current plans. I知 currently wanting to have my axles built rcvs chromoly 5.13s truss gussets sleeves and ball joints all that痴 gonna be done next year. After that I値l probably be doing the long arms and struts and probably moving to 40s and I値l probably have to upgrade my front drive shaft as I have bent mine. I致e done countless research and still plan on doing more to make sure I知 choosing the right parts. I知 not worried about daily driving.

but none of this answer my question that I asked. Is there a difference in arm length in a those lifts

Not sure I understand. Do you mean breakover or the arms won't break as soon?

Reason I was curious, I've been running a long arm for six seasons now. While there are clear advantages in terms of ride quality and stability, you lose some clearance and spend a lot of time smacking the arms on trail obstacles. IMHO the expense isn't justified until you get to maybe 6" lift and 38 - 40" tires. Lots of expense that under those tire sizes could go to other equipment and be more effective. Running 37s, so maybe if I were on larger tires I'd be more enthusiastic.
