Default Long Arm Upgrade Suggestions?

I am hoping to find more information on LA upgrade kits. I am currently running a 4" SA kit and would like to throw some LA's under there before I install coilovers. I do not have a welder so a bolt on kit would be nice. I do hit the trails fairly often so if you are going to comment about reliability and performance, I ask that you have tackled more than a speedbump with your rig. I would like to hear about price, ease of install, construction, and ride comfort (although I understand there are numerous factors that contribute) Thanks in advance my friends.

Lots of people say long arms only improve on-road performance, so the guy using them to negotiate speed bumps will have relevant input :-)

EVO offers bolt-on long arms that are reportedly very good. I am still running short arms though.

Long arms improve both on road and off road for different reasons. Off road because improved suspension geometry makes a better tires contact, improve the overall balance and gravity center and reduce suspension squat. On road, the ride is smoother due to the reduced angles, less stress on the joints so it absorb bumps better. Also you will have a better cornering and braking performance due to the improved suspension geometry.

Clayton offroad . over engineered, over built, very very strong, bolt on. I have lots of first hand experience with them and others and in my opnion for cost, quality and service there is clayton and there is everyone else.
They do just a front kit with new cross member or a front and rear kit.

Yeah thats why I bought my long arm kit, so I can negotiate speed bumps in my 4 door grocery getter, cuz thats all 4 doors on long arms are good for.

Yes I agree, there is a lot of junk on the market.

And I don't believe you can find a real bolt-on long arms kit that is properly designed.

A good kit will require welding and cutting.

Soooo.... Open my eyes a bit. I can get a hold of a welder if need be. Any weld-on suggestions?

I saw good reviews on synergy long arm, clayton, terraflex, Rock Krawler and genright.

Personally I would buy a Synergy long arm kit because you can adjust the arms mounted. I also like the synergy products.

I recently installed the RK triple threat long arm on a 2 door rubicon. The arms are solid, not tubing, very well built kit, that went in with no problems. A fair amount of welding was involved, which I think was the easier part of the install. Cutting off all of the original brackets on the frame was the tough part. But, I am very pleased with what I have. The JK has a better ride on road and off road. Also went with the bilstein 5160 w/res shocks. It took me a bit of time to cut off brackets, and install, but I was taking my time and enjoying the build.
