BY THE WAY GUYS THANKS FOR THE INFO IM FINALLY STARTING TO UNDERSTAND THESE NOW, we can't modify the ride height more than this here I know people who lifted 4" but I'm not thinking of that ... The ride is comfortable

Hey... no need to "defend" long arms Their suspension geometry improvement is obvious.

As far as I'm concerned, you're wrong about one thing, though... My wife doesn't interfere with what I do with my Jeep...

I'm not an avid rock crawler, however, there's no lack here of demanding wheeling, which makes use of every inch of articulation and ground clearance.

One of the good points of the JK/U is the live axles, but this is also a drawback, which properly designed long arms can correct to a large degree.

Now, here's some blasphemy:
My personal approach is that if I wanted to mod all the way, to the most offroad capable possible, it would no longer resemble a Jeep... it would have long arms... on a sort of 4x4 large buggy, all tube-framed, with long-armed independent suspension.
I don't have the time for such a build, or the time to drive it enough to justify such a project.
On the other hand, I'm in love with Jeeps and enjoy mine, be it on trails or in the city.

Also, from my personal point of view (and others may, of course, have a different approach) --
A 4" lift is enough for me, I wouldn't go for 6" or more.
If I had long arms, they would have been hit quite a few times, rather than the side rock sliders. Short arms are less vulnerable, and that's why I have them.
If I had 8" lift, I'd have definitely preferred long arms. In fact, they would have been a must.

With 4" lift as the starting point, and seeing how nicely my JKU "behaves itself", which suspension mod would have bigger influence on ride, both off & on road? -- Long arms, or coilovers?
As this is my DD, which "hits the trails" between 2 and 4 times a month, I think that, while changing to coilovers will be felt on every single bump on the road or off it, I'll feel the true and full effect of the long arms only once in a while.

The only thing we would like to point out with our systems is the fact that our long arms do have a high clearance feature that provides you with improved cross over angles, even when compared to high clearance lower control arms that mount to the OEM mounts.

Can you spot the long arms below? If we did not put the decals on them, you would be hard pressed to find them! Or so we hope! But, from this side view you can easily see the cross over angle advantage we offer! When it came to our JK Long Arm Systems, we wanted absolutely no compromises for suspension geometry!

You got terrific offroad possibilities - sand dunes, mountain trails, sea shore...

That 2 door had a 3.5" long arm, 37's and flat fenders!
