Looking to replace my rear bumper...
I currently have the LOD rear bumper with tire carrier. It is the first edition and had multiple problems with it including improper fit/ rubbing the body, noisy tire carrier, very very very poor fit and finish and it is rusting already (badly). I take alot of pride in my Jeep and dont want this thing on there. With all due respect, I have already sought resoloution from the manufacturer and have given up. Im going to replace it with a high Quality bumper with solid construction, that will pit perfectly and will not rattle. It needs to have shackle mounts and a reciever hitch. I would prefer one that is not painted or coated already because it looks like due to shipping problems, most of the bumpers are being delivered with damage. Cost is an issue but if it is a quality product, im willing to pay extra. Excellent customer service is a must. Who has had good experience with their bumpers that hey would 100% recommend? Where did you buy it , and what did you pay? Thanks in advance for the information.
Expedition one. You can open the tailgate in one step instead of two like all the other mfgs, does not block your lic. plate, is built very well, and the customer service has been excellent.
I also can endorse the RockHard. I've had it on for about 6 months now and still tight as a drum. Very high quality piece.

Only one caution about it...it moves the spare tire quite a ways up and back. Really chops off your visibility out the rear window (you will get used to using you side mirrors), and you need a longer open space in your garage to fit the Jeep in. Of course, this is exactly what you want for offroad to improve departure angle, but it does bother you on the street. Here's a view from the side that shows how much it moves the spare up and out...

I like the fact that the quality of the Rockhard parts are there but Im realy not a big fan of the tire being put way out there. Im not sure I like the looks of it. I may just have to wait a little longer and live with the LOD for a while until more choices are made available without the huge waiting lists. Im sure tht the mounting points are going to be different on a new bumper so that means more holes in the frame. I wish I could have got a good bumper the first time......another lesson learned I guess. I wonder if the new LODs mount to the same place. I wonder if LOD wants to buy theirs back? (probably not) Thanks for all of the input.

The tire hanging higher is excellent for departure angle... and quite honestly makes the Jeep look bad a$$.
