Default Looking for a softer on-road ride

Anyone have suggestions for a better ride? I have a Tereflex 2.5" lift with shocks. I was looking into the Teraflex tuned Elka shocks but am wondering if they are really worth $1000. Prefer to stick with easy fixes rather than switching to a long arm kit.

Yeah , they're worth it. I run 37in toyo load range E at 28 psi, these shocks made me love the hard ass toyos for once. If I had C's or D's, it prolly ride like a Cadillac.

I am running 35" Km2s with 35 psi. Went to the local 4x4 shop and the sales guy called Teraflex to find out more about them. They said it was night and day between their regular shocks and these. Damn! Now I have to decide between shocks or gears.

26 psi? I run 24 in the front and 22 in the back. But I have a 2dr. It makes a huge difference!!!

Yep. I have the 4-door. More than likely I will go ahead and do the re-gear first because the ride isn't that bad but if I can improve it....why not spend more money.

Does the lower air pressure lower your gas mileage? I run at least 36 and in my
35" duratracs and i think the ride is fine... I have the same lift, but kept the Rubi shocks.

It is better to run low enough psi to get flat, even treadwear and lose 1-2 mpg and have your tires last an extra 10k miles.

the elka shocks are nice and they'll eat up the bumps when driving fast and hard in the desert but, around town, i think you find them to be on the firm side and, won't help soften things up. if anything, i might recommend swapping your coils for a softer set. i've run TF coils and, while i was fine with them, they are one of the more firm riding coils out there. if you'd be okay with going to about 3.5" of lift, i would recommend the off road evolution plush ride coils. of all the coils i have run, these are some of the most comfortable.

So if I go with these coils do I need to change anything else that I already have? I have the Teraflex control arms up font along with the track bar.
