It could just be bump steer....which from what I understand you will always have some with a solid axle up front

I'll check this here in an hour or so. Thanks.

It's a side to side movement from pedal to pedal mount... Hard to get up there also, and no way to tighten because it is a pin with two c clips that hold it in.. That's the noise from mine anyways. Let us know what you find.

I did the foot under the brake thing and it didn't make a difference. I didn't get a chance to rotate the tires today and I didn't really want to take each part off and check the bushings this afternoon. Does anyone think there is much of a chance that the tires would be the problem?

If it happens every time at a given speed and is easily repeatable, the the tires or wheels could be a source.

If it is completely random, is triggered by hitting a bump/railroad tracks/bridge seam/etc. then it is not tire or wheel related.

Thanks. It's random. Not at a specific speed. I won't waste my time rotating the tires then. Thanks

Dealer had it again yesterday. The engineers said there is a tsb for an internal steering column. Got the jeep back because the part won't be here until tomorrow. I searched but couldn't find any tsb for an internal steering column. I asked specifically if it was the intermediate steering shaft ( which they have already replaced) and was told that it was an internal shaft. Anyone know of a tsb for an internal steering column?

Check your tie rod ends. One of them could be loose.

The dealer replaced the tie rod. I checked after that and are tight. Get the steering column replaced tomorrow. Will see what happens

Steering column replaced, no change. I rotated the tires on Sat, no change. I removed the stock bolt on the axle side of the trackbar. The holes in the trackbar bracket looks to me to be ovaled. I have attached a picture. I also took a video of the bolt moving up and down in the bracket holes. (Can't seem to attach a video from my phone). It moves quite a bit. Service manager said he is not concerned with this. If the bolt is torqued, it won't cause a problem. I'd like to get the opinion of others that know more about this than I do. Is this right? They are going to adjust the steering gears tomorrow. They say it is bump steer. Does this make sense? Thanks for the help.
