Low-cost / Free mods that should be done?
lots of colors. dipyourcar.com!
yeppers!!
I've started reading this thread from the beginning and it made me laugh.. someone did the dimple mod and covered his indentions with trail rated badges. I was thinking to myself "gee, where can I buy trail rated badges in bulk?" If that's the case!
Why cover up the dimple mod?
Great stuff, thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge.
I just purchased my 2011 JKU and have been following this thread closely.
I have one I wanted to share, although not exactly a mod, it turned out to be very inexpensive and serves a great purpose.
I found a 130 pc toolbox at Harbor Freight that happens to fit PERFECTLY under the rear compartment. It almost seems like it was made for JK's. As you might imagine, quality is not the best, but for $30 bucks, you cant beat that. If someone steals it, it wont feel as bad as a nicer set.
Also, as you know, our JKs don't have the best rearview so I held the headrests with elastic cords. They also can come handy on the trail.

You can unhook the springs on each side of the headrests. That way they'll stay down on their own, then your passenger can just flip them up when someone sits back there.
I used a little screwdriver to push off the springs. If you look inside the seat where the headrest, you'll see where there is a spring on each side of the headrest.
That box fits there very nicely.

Ahhhh, good to know. That would definitely be better, I will for sure look into it tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

Agreed. I'm interested in one as well. I would rather order as my nearest harbor freight is 1 hour away.
