It's a reusable gasket. Get it, it's worth the money. I think it's uses silicon beads on the gasket to help seal it. You don't have to use RTV with it to seal the gasket. Well worth the extra money over a normal gasket and RTV.

Get it! I used RTV for my rear SOLID cover and I ended up placing it upside down, the mess I made and had to clean was horrible.

If you decide on useing the "lube locker" be careful about over torquing the bolts. There is a thread on here about people breaking them with the instructions recommend 35#s. People were having food luck with 25#s. If I open up my diffs I will get a set.

I guess it depends how frequently you will be changing your gear oil. I use RTV. It costs a couple bucks for a tube and is not difficult to apply and works just as good in my opinion.

RTV no leaks and you torque to specs. The four-wheel shop that installed my gear swap refused to use them and they cost more than RTV!

Lube lockers here. They were only like $18-$20 each. And no need to scrape off the old RTV next time. Didn't have to wait for rtv to set. Throw them on and for get them. No issues with mine.

OVERKILL!

Rtv works fine as long as the surfaces are clean and not dented as well...done a lot of tear downs over the years and wouldn't go that route that's just looking for extra work...
