Default Lurching when getting on and off the gas?

Hi Guys,

Newbie here, only had the JK for about a month now. Basic details: 2007 with a 3" lift, 35's, 4.56's, manual.

Just started to have an issue today where, when I go totally off the gas, or ease on the gas, the Jeep gives a bit of a lurch and makes a slight clunk. She continues to cruise after getting off/on the gas, but its not smooth.

When I ease back on the gas, it makes a squeaking sound that goes away when you push the throttle a bit more. The lurch has me concerned, and I am not too sure where I should start looking for issues, any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Alex

Guys...lets try and help him out.

Sounds to me like its drive train related.

Could it be Drive shaft related? With that much lift I am thinking it could be an issue.

Get under your Jeep....look at the front and rear DS and see if there is any issues with the u joints or CV boots. Also check for fluid leaks around the axles and diffs.

I have a similar issue with my 07 Sahara with manual. After I installed 3.5 series II it seemed to have started. I run 33" tires and stock driver shafts. Front is slinging a bit of grease but not making any noise. Clutch acting a bit strange and TOB making noise. Wonder if it related. Have 80000 miles on mine

This happens to me as well, if I totally let go of the gas, my Jeep does the same thing. I have an 07 auto mostly stock except for the tires: 265/75R16

Do you have a superchips?

Does this happen at all speeds?
What about reverse?
Maybe your back brakes are binding up?

Its normally only during slow starts. I hit gas in first the let off and it starts bucking. Also makes a clank sound. Have to give it gas again to make it stop. All fluids are full and regularly changed.

Might have some slack in your driveshafts due to improper angles??
