Not sure why someone would spend that kind of money on a cat-back system. The factory exhaust is all stainless steel.
I don't know anything about that filter. I think the tube design of the AEM and Airaid looks better. I think that the AEM filter is the best. Search around, You'll find tons of info. about CAI's.
For performance info. read this:

For an alternative to the cat-back system, I did this:

I just ordered a Magnaflow catback this week. I think that it will sound good and work well with the AEM intake that I bought as well. I will post an opinion about it as soon as I get it installed. It should be sometime early next week.

the main reason why you want the whole system is because the stock pipe that goes over the rear axle is flatten from the factory, hence restricting the exhaust flow. So, if you clear that up, plus a free-flowing muffler, the result will better (Although just changing the muffler also creates improvement over stock)
It doesn't really make too much sense to me to add only a muffler if the exhale up to the muffler is constricted. I don't dispute that you might see some benefits from a new muffler alone, but it makes sense to me that you won't see as much overall benefit.
Of course, everything I know about this stuff I've gleaned from this website...
For the record, the factory pipe is mandrel bent and they intentionally "crushed" the top bend in the pipe for clearence over the rear track bar. I agree that it sucks that they did that.
Right, the pipe is "crush bent" vs. mandrel bent; ie: pinched at the elbows vs. consistently maintaining pipe diameter and thereby not constricting the air flow.
