Default Metalcloak Gold Standard shocks

Its been an number of years (college) since I my last jeep, so i am a bit giddy with the '12 JKU I picked up a few weeks ago. My first big upgrade is a lift, so I took Metalcloak up on their gold coin deal and am patiently waiting for my 2.5" lift to arrive.

Since the gold standard suspension doesnt come with shocks and Metalcloak wont sell OME long travels ( plus they are apparently on national backorder so I cant seem to find them elsewhere) I could use some advise on shock alternatives.

I drive the Jeep daily so road manners are very important, but i dont want just standard shocks that will be completely inadequate off road. While fox looks to make a great product, they are a little rich for my blood. I am thinking of OME standard travel, RS9000xl, or stock rubi shocks as a short term fix while i look for or save up for something better.

thanks for the input in advance.

So they won't sell you the OME shocks that they bundle with their other kit?

Seems odd.

Well if Fox is too pricey then its Bilsteins or the Rancho 9000XL's. The rancho's are adjustable, and frankly have never heard or had a bad experience with them, they use to be in cab adjustable for a minor price increase, lol. For simplicity probably the Bilsteins any of the 5100, 5150, or 5160's will do.

I initially used the Bilstein 5100's. Recently switched to FOX 2.0 IFP's. I prefer the FOX shocks, myself. I have not wheeled with them yet but on-road ride quality was an improvement for me..
