If only someone had invented a colored substance that could be spread over a surface and dried to leave a thin decorative or protective coating.

Well, just tried cutting my pinch seam on my 2013. Exactly why I didn't want to do it... You think I can patch these?

I heard that's the only thing holding it together. It'll separate and fly apart if you cut it.

Cut, stuff it with JB weld, paint it. All good.

Mine was made in February '13 and the pinch seam was trimmed from the factory.

YA, that will work. The "colored substance that could be spread over a surface and dried to leave a thin decorative or protective coating" alone wouldn't last through the winter up here with the salt.

I live in jersey, and frequently drive to Canada. My pinch seam isn't rusting 4 years later and I haven't touched it up. I've seen my fair share of salt.

I'm not sure what Jersey roads are like in the winter but in NY, salt on the roads is pretty much a daily thing for a solid 3 months. Most of the guys I know that ride motorcycles wont even take their Harley out of the garage until we see a good week of rain that washes all the salt off the roads.

Hey, what can I say, NY sucks...the winter weather sucks, the politicians suck, the gun laws suck...but I have to deal with it for a while yet!
