Default mid arm EVO coilover

I have a 2012 jku Sport and am looking for a good 3"-4" lift set up, it's a daily driver and i dont plan on switching to long arms anytime soon. I'm looking at running the Rock Krawler 3.5" max travel kit (mid arm) and replacing the coils with the evo coilovers and evo lever or the bolt on coilovers from evo. Is anyone running this or a similar set up on their rig? or how do you think this set up will work/ what coilover set up you would suggest. Pictures of this set up would be great!

Thanks,
Sean

Sean, I like your style...probably because I'm doing the exact same thing. I'm running the RK 3.5" max travel, and installing EVO bolt on coil overs (front axle) this weekend. Followed by Evo Lever rear coil over set up in the next 2 months.
I don't have any concerns about running this set up, and did decent research beforehand. I'll post pics and impressions as I go.

Hey sean,

I'm currently running the EVO MFG Bolt on Coilovers on my personal rig with factory arms. Its a great starter kit as far as coilovers go. It will out perform any coilover kit on the market. Its a good system for short arm kits.

However as good as the Bolt on Coilover is, it can not compete or keep up with the EVOlever system. The EVOlever will give you 14" of wheel travel compared to the 12" on the bolt on coilovers.

Thanks for the quick reply! Is there a noticeable difference in articulation or travel between a mid arm coilover set up and the long arm?

You do not gain wheel travel with long arms. Better geometry and less bushing bind

Gotcha, and at the 3.5" - 4" lift height, geometry correction is not as important or necessary compared to a higher lift correct?

I am interested in the coilovers and the mid arm to. If I where to go to EVO coilovers and wanted to stay with the mid arm but wanted to upgrade all of them to something better. Who makes a good mid arm that would flex more and go good with the EVOs? I know EVO makes the front lowers but I would like to replace all 8.

You do want to correct you geometry, as far as pinion and caster angle. I'm running the bare minumum, its certainly not the optimal set up. if you want the optimal set up Long arms are the way to go.

Currie is who I would go with, Johhny Joints on both ends are hard to beat. Thats why we run Currie joints on our short arms and long arm kits. These joints will do good back east in the winter as well. Just keep them greased up!
