Default miles per tank

I'm just lightly modded, I just got my first tank over 300 miles the other day and was exicited. I just hit 25k miles - was it just break in?

How many do y'all get per tank? It was typically 285-295 the first year after wheel/tires upgrade.

Can't speak about the Diesel, but on the gas engine I would say that it probably took 5-6,000 miles for the engine internals to lose their tightness and spin freely. That's when my efficiency started to rise and I was able to hit over 20mpg on a regular basis.

As for miles per tankful, I start thinking about when I'm going to get gas at around 250 miles. Hitting 300 miles is a stretch, and it makes me a little panicky when I am running that low on fuel.

I've gotten 330 miles out of 1 tank. But that was driving with the gas light on for 20 miles...

You can't compare yours with gasoline JK's. I routinely get 300ish but gas vs. diesel are two different systems. I would think the diesel should get better, but I don't know.

Here are the numbers that I recall from what I've logged over the last year:

Stock:
City/Hwy [45/55] - 350 - 380 miles/tank [87 octane non-ethanol blend]
City/Hwy [45/55] - 325 - 360 miles/tank [87 octane 10-15% ethanol blend - E10/E15]
City/Hwy [80/20] - 325 - 350 miles/tank [87 octane non-ethanol blend]

With 4" lift + 35s [315/75R16]
City/Hwy [45/55] - 325 - 350 miles/tank [87 octane non-ethanol blend]
City/Hwy [45/55] - 300 - 325 miles/tank [87 octane 10-15% ethanol blend - E10/E15]
City/Hwy [80/20] - 275 - 300 miles/tank [87 octane non-ethanol blend]

Before the lift and tires, my highway driving speeds were around 75mph; after the tires, I've dropped my highway speeds to about 65mph. Going any faster seems to reduce fuel economy quite significantly.

thank you for the detailed answer, wow 350-380?? Impressive. Maybe an altitude difference? I am at sea-level here.

Typically with my JKU

City commuting 475-500km/tank (300-315miles)
Highway - 600-650km/tank ( 375-400miles)
This is with the 87 Superchips tune and AirRaid CAI system and Lod Bumpers and warn winch. Very pleased with the mileage.
