Default Mirror relocation for 2011 JK

Was looking to find a good bracket relocator for my mirrors when I run with the doors off this summer. Read the reviews about most and figured that the rugged ridge seemed to be good. Also i like the idea of the Die-Tech Off-road mirror brackets so that you just move the mirrors back and forth between both doors and non doors and not compromise my vision. Only problem is that they all say the work from 07-10 not my 2011. Does anyone with know if that's just a typo or is that really the case, and if so any other options and how they perform. Pictures if you have them may help too. Thanks

As far as going with the Rugged Ridge ones, I can't say with 100% confidence, but I'm 99% sure they will work as long as you dont have heated or electric mirrors. Reason being is the cable that runs from the inside of the door to the mirror doesnt disconnect. So as long as you have just regular mirrors you will be fine as the doors stayed the same during the change. Also if you went with the die tech which i believe come with their own mirror, you'll be fine.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure it says 2007-10 just because the websites havent been updated in a while.

Die tech does NOT come with a mirror! The jk version I bought this past summer was just the bracket. Its a great product but moving the mirrors is quickly getting old. I've been scouring the local salvage yard for a spare set with no luck.

Despite the extra 5 minutes it takes to swap the mirrors out its a GREAT product.

Side note: I hear the the RR brackets really limit your sight lines

If you have power locks and windows your mirrors are different because they are heated and wired into the door harness. That is why most don't say 2011.

When I take the doors off my 2011, I use the Rugged Ridge quick release mirrors (P/N 11025.10). They're kind of a pain to adjust (3 screws on the back of each mirror), but they stay put once you tighten them down. The arms attach to the brackets with thumbscrews, so they go on or come off in seconds. Plus, since the brackets mount to the windshield hinge instead of the door hinge, they work well with the Bestop soft doors in the summer (no line-of-sight issues).

Easiest and best looking Imo is get universal mirrors for a cj. The bracket fits the windshield hinges perfectly, no modifications needed. One bolt through that bracket to install or remove the mirrors when the doors go on or come off. Leave your factory mirrors on the doors. Quick, easy, legal and looks good.

Is there a way that I can keep my mirrors on the door, being that I have power windows and power door and want to keep that, but add a bracket to the jeep so when i do take doors off i can just add different mirrors? Also if this is a possibility would that bracket be in the way of my windshield lights bracket and a snorkel that I want down the road?

x2 I've got the Die Tech brackets and they are strong, solid, and very well made and you don't vibration on the mirror. I just bought 2 extra mirrors (not power or heated) as I couldn't be bothered taking the originals on and off.

Did you check out the link I posted earlier for the Rugged Ridge quick release mirrors? They're exactly what you described.

The brackets are small and mount to the side of the windshield hinge using the factory bolts. I don't think you'd have any problems using these mirrors with windshield light brackets, since light brackets are usually mounted to the front of the hinge.

The snorkel could be a problem though, since many snorkels use a bracket that mounts to the same two holes that are used by the passenger-side mirror bracket. You could avoid this by using a cowl-mounted snorkel like one that was shown at SEMA recently (see this post). But that may not work with windshield light brackets.

EDIT: wayoflife just posted more SEMA pics that show the quick release mirrors being used with a snorkel and lights.
