Default Mirror relocation brackets.

Does anyone have pics of their JK with the side mirror relocation brackets installed?

Your thoughts? I heard that you do loose some visability with them but not too bad.

How do you get the mirrors off without scratching the paint?

Also, does moving the mirrors and capping the holes stop the probelm of after washing the Jeep, having water slowly drain from the mirrors, leaving watermarks down the doors?

I have the Rugged Ridge relocation brackets. They are easy to install and fairly priced. You lose some visibility on the passenger side mirror when the door is on, but you get used to it.

Warrior brackets IMO work alot better than the Rugged Ridge ones. Do a search for "Mirror Brackets" and you'll find many stories & posts and after reading these, ask away any questions. Warrior visability is good. The stock mirrors are taken off by removing the torx screw on the underside. Bought on http://www.quadratec.com/products/12110_71.htm

I've got the Rugged Ridge brackets. The driver side mirror is fine with the doors on, I lose about 3/4 of an inch on the inside of the mirror but visability is still fine. As for the passanger side.... I get about 2 inches of mirror view with doors on (with a generous torso lean toward the passanger seat). I put one of those stick on mirrors which has helped some. Regardless, I never really trusted the passenger side mirror in the first place. I prefer the old look back method. They both work great with the doors off. Installation took some finagling (sp?) due to thread issues.

Here is a pic for comparison between the Warrior above and the RR. I've never seen the Warrior Brackets in person but they do look like they give better visability by Westchester's pic.

Warrior brackets do cause the mirrors to shake excessively, but it is easily cured (2 minute fix) with a strip of duct tape acting as a washer between the plastic mirror surround and the metal bracket (I'll write more if anyone needs details). Suggest you use search function for the Rugged Ridge feedback on other threads.

The RR brackets come with a pad that goes between the bracket and the body. No shaking or vibrating at all. I'm sure there are a number of materials around the house that can work just as well. Don't have any close ups as of now. I'm presently at work with no camera (working real hard if you can't tell!).

I'm sure you have already seen it but just in case..
Here is a link to Quadratec which has a descent close up
