How much of a difference is it between the look of flat flares and just cutting the stock flares? I've seen both of these, but not side by side for a comparison so if anyone has, could you tell me where to see the picture? Thanks

I plan on getting a 33" A/T tire seeing as where I still need to get somewhat good gas mileage while driving to and from school, but be able to have some fun off road (nothing crazy...yet). If you guys have any recommendations on what a good 2.5"-3" BB lift is that you're running, any input would be great! Thanks in advance
you'll lose mpg's as soon as you lift it and add bigger tires - how much depends on how heavy a tire/wheel combo you get and how aggressive the tread pattern is.

you'll also need to invest in or have the dealer flash your Jeep for the bigger tire so your speedo and odometer stay correct. It would be best to invest in a programmer like SuperChips, that way you can also adjust the tune for better performance and maybe gain back some mpg's.

IMO - keep it stock until you can really afford the modding domino effect. I would skip the BB and get a more complete suspension with adjustable control arms at minimum, just seems that BB mods nickel and dime as you keep adding parts to fix issues.

I made a lot of off road trips with my stock JK until I really determined what I really wanted out of it - you'd be surprised how capable it is in stock form.

Have Jeep fun and good luck

The Rugged Ridge flat fenders (which I have) are almost identical to a DIY fender whack. Only difference is the RR ones are perfectly cut and the liner is custom made for it. It looks a lot cleaner than a fender whack and also houses the side marker lights. I started with cut fenders but did a somewhat hack job of it so I ended up getting the RR's

The best fender flares are probably the Bushwackers. They're completely unique in their look; nothing like the cut fenders. It's arguably the best fender replacements available. There are also flat tube fenders, but the jury's out on those (very tough fenders, but does not give and can damage your body if you hit the fender)

Driveshafts can wait, and go with 35s.
I agree with this! I have this same lift (and tire size) and its a daily driver. I am not crazy off road, but use it. I still have the stock driveshafts with out any problems or issues.

I feel this is a great lift to start with, if you are new to this. BB's are also good, but are not as........ tuned (for lack of a better term) as a full on lift. I am also using shock extensions, which is one thing I am going to remedy soon, my factory shocks leave a lot to be desired, but have done their job well, and kept my initial cost down on lifting my Jeep.

33's would be great, especially if you are not changing gears, but if you want 35's, then get them. Our Jeeps aren't known for their speed and power and yes, this makes it worse. But you can upgrade over time.

MPG's will vary wildly. If you are concerned about MPG, maybe you should first get another vehicle to drive to and from work, these Jeep's are "Flying Bricks"! Seriously though, if you keep your foot out of it and depending on tire selection and factory gears (bumpers, winches, lights, etc) you can expect 9-17 MPG's. I know that is wildly broad, but reading so many posts here, you will see this is probably a safe statement!

Have fun with it. You won't regret it, thats what you bought it for!

Ok, so after looking around I think I'm going to go with the 2.5 TF coil lift and run the stock shocks until they give out or I find a deal on a set of bilsteins. I've also been browsing wheels and have come across a set that I think look good, so you guys tell me what you think, good or bad. [ATTACH]218366[/ATTACH

Well guys, it's either lift or tires and wheels. I am thinking that getting the wheels and a set of 33 inch tires for now would be good, and just wait til spring for the lift. From your personal experience would this be the best thing to do? Or to get the lift now and tires/wheels later
