mopar chrome bumpers..
one thing that I have learned in the past is that when you CROME a bumper
that you make the steal real WEAK
. You can take a sledge hamer and nock out the dents on a crome bumper but try that on a plane steel bumper and you will be sledgeing all day to try and nock out that dent and you will eventually give up

the gas cap cover does come in black and is quite expensive
tail light covers, i believe come in black too
Mirror covers, i believe these just 3m tape on so should come off with some effort i would have imagined??
eBay have them all for sale!
Shame you arent in the UK, I would have swapped you for my mint condition, unchipped black grill for the chrome one! never mind!
digging up this old thread... put me down as someone who likes chrome when done right... I actually really like the Mopar Chrome tube bumpers. They're really not that intrusive, just nice accents on the side. Unfortunately, because of the "MOPAR" on them, they're a bit pricey... I might need to find some aftermarket alternatives....

Thanks, I liked these until I saw the Mopar ones... Still like the Mopar ones better, but I've been seeing these as cheap as $200 per bumper, which seems like a great deal.
Also - Has anyone seen these bumpers on eBay or elsewhere selling for $200? Any thoughts on those? A bit cheaper than the Smittybuilts... I know you get what you pay for, but can you really screw up a couple steel tubes?

I have the mopar one on my Black JK (front bar) & think it looks good, though if I had the choice I think burnished aluminum would better than the chrome. Since everything else is black (rear bumper, side steps, hardtop with blackout windows, etc) it adds a bit of contrast without going overboard as it's just the side bars that are chromed.
These bumpers are fairly stong too (contrary to popular belief that if it has any chrome on it then it must be a piece of s**t only suitable for street use), as I've bashed mine a few times offroad (and hit a kangaroo doing 50MPH) & it's held together fine. Believe it of not they are actually better finished than the mopar offroad bumper, which is notorious for rusting (I've done a lot of beach driving over the past 3 years without any sign of rust on it; wish I could say the same about the rest of the jeep though) and they are also compatable with the mopar recovery hooks. The only problem I had with it is that they mounted the foglights under the bar where they are easily knocked & caught up on stuff; I've relocated them on top since that photo was taken.
