I have the metal ones for my unlimited. The are not visible from the outside. The ones for the back doors are very small.

Yes, they attach with an automotive style tape that is already on the part itself.

It's two 18" pieces of plastic! Probably costs less than a buck to manufacturer, including the cost of the mold. I think they just seem cheap because of some of the other ridiculous Mopar prices(like taillight guards).
Don't get me wrong, I bought a set for my JK and I love them. I think they look great and serve their purpose very well, but I dont think they are a bargain by any means. Heck, you can buy a brand new DVD player for $20 at most discount stores, and I know those take a little more work to make than the door sills.

That's a good point, but this is too: Supply and demand. Who's had the longest build-up time to bring JK products to market? Mopar. So, who's got the most "accessories" (not to be confused with MODS like bumpers, etc.) available for the JK?: Mopar. So who's getting the most ORDERS for their accessories (which practically no one else is even making yet)?: Mopar... see where this is going? They get to rape us all because there's practically no competition... so either grin and bear it or go without, until someone comes out with better and/or cheaper. Sad, but true.
