Default Mopar ORT Lift?

I did a search and didn't come up with anything. Has anyone heard any more about the Mopar ORT (RE) lift? When, how much and warranty? Is it only the long arm kit? Thanks

Default I believe it's only the long arm...

I believe it's only the long arm.

expect to pay $3300 + any mopar "tax" and then maybe even install???

so maybe $4000ish

of course then you will need mopar approved rims maybe $200 each x 5 and mopar approved tires maybe $250 x 5 (of course they will pick Goodyear or BFG)

all said and done let's see
$4000 lift
$1000 rims
$1500 tires
$6500ish

but you would keep your life time warranty. if you got the cash it's prob the best way to go the dealer can't say well... you did add this... so I can't cover that....

comments welcome

I was told by the head guy at mopar that no matter who puts the lift on it will do the same thing to the suspension warranty -- Void it.

But who cares you will not have any factory suspension left.

I'm pretty sure the life-time part of the warranty only covers powertrain - basically internal failure of the engine, transmission, or transfer case.

Default right but....

right but you know a dealer is going to say your gearbox went out because of the larger tires or your axle broke because of the larger tires etc... the list goes on.

If they put the larger tires on you might have a better chance to get service.

They told me my brakes (something I didn't touch) where not covered when I had a few problems because they where not designed to stop the extra weight & tires I had installed.

1 other thing looking around for mopar/jeep rims make that $300+ each!

I had asked the dealer I'm getting our Rubi from if he would look into it for me. He is having the parts department check it out. His first answer, without any "real" info from Jeep, was that anything offered by Mopar is usually covered if installed by any Mopar dealer but not independant shops. But he said without knowing for sure he would find out everything he can for me.

Dave, when you talked to "the head guy at Mopar", who was that exactly? I assume that you have an inside line to all the right people within Jeep/Mopar but right now all I am hearing are guesses and opinions, albeit "reliable sources". I guess the thing to do is to wait till after the first of the year and let someone else test the waters first I'm just trying to get all my options understood with the pros and cons.

I hope that it works just like Toyota. If you have the blower installed in your new Toyota before taking delivery, EVERYTHING is covered by the factory warrenty. Would be cool to get a suspension mod like that.

There are people who don't have any extra cash and would do it just so it could be wrapped into the financing.....
