Default Mopar rear bumper owners... quick question

I'll be purchasing one when I make it up to WA, but needed to know what size d-rings will fit on this bumper.

I just wanted to make sure because I was going to pick up 4 of the 3/4" with a 7/8" pin d-rings for my purejeep shackles I just got. Will these fit the MOPAR rear?

No. You need the 5/8 with the 3/4" pin. I was going to drill them out to match the front, but it would weaken them too much.

They are clevices, not necessarily spelled that way though... and or shackels, and when you buy a 3/4" shackle, you get one size pin, forever and ever, atleast that's how it's always been.

And do not i repeat do not drill out anything on them...they are rated at a certain tonnage with no alteration in mind. ......

Thank you. I thought I read in another post about them being a different size but couldn't find the post.

I bought mine from Fastenal for about $13 ea. I got the painted ones so I could repaint them. In my post I stated that he needs a 5/8 shackle that has a 3/4" pin. The HOLE in the bumper is 3/4" which isn't standard. Most bumpers use a 3/4 with the 7/8" pin.

Update on the Mopar Offroad rear bumper. Just installed this today and the holes for the D-Rings now take 3/4" shackles with the 7/8" pin. I pulled them off my Shrockworks front to try and the fit great.

The welded mount points are thinner than the front bumper so I will need to add some bushings so the new D-Rings do not slide around.

Also the bumper does not have the laser cut JEEP logo. I like it better! Nice and clean.
I bought this direct from the Jeep dealer.

I will take some pictures when I get a chance.

Great man. Thanks for the update and get pics when you can. Do you know if this is still the same part number as the old one that has the Jeep logo cutout?

Here are some shots. Got the best price from the dealer believe it or not. Told them what I could get it for online and they beat it.

It was crazy how light the stock bumper was. 100% plastic.

Part number on shipping carton:

My 3/4" D-Ring in the mount:

Hope the photos help. It's a very clean looking bumper.

Go to Lowes/Home Depot and get some ball cock washers to use as spacers. Someone had done a writeup on them. They work great to stop the shackle rattling. Plus they're cheap. I'm glad that they changed the hole size but they should have gone ahead and made the mounts beefier. Mine look like one good pull and they would come off.
