Default More help please!!

Ok I got the new tires and wheels on and and now I need some adivce about the spare tire . I don't have the money to buy new bumpers yet, but I do have a oversize (35 inch tire) for my spare that i need to mount in the factory tire carrier.. Is this going to work? What about the brake light and all that .. is see lots of people are running the stock bumpers with big spares but there has to be something I need to buy.. Ya i know can the stock bumpers cause they suck but I have spent all my money this month on wheels tires and lift..

Or fab has a very nice body mounted carrier. It's cheap when compared to the crazy bumper/carrier combo prices.

Its more of a weight issue not size. But its going to be hard to get a straight yes or no. The tailgate is much stronger than previous Jeeps, due to the fact its a 3 piece construction. I heard its rate to hold 200 lbs. But I'm not sure if that's right.

Lol the jk has the weakest sheetmetal and welds I've seen on a jeep so far. It can be buckled by just leaning on it.

My factory tire wallowed out my hinges. I wouldn't run a factory spare on the gate let alone a heavier tire.

X's 2. I helped my brother install one of these two weeks ago. I was very impressed with the strength and simplicity of operation. Plus it looks really cool and you can easily run Rotopax style gas/water tanks if you want.

Per Bestop it is rated at 200lbs, just going with what they say. If you don't believe me, Follow the link below, Hit the video tab and watch the video about 1:35 in, they say 200lbs.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the stock carrier. I didn't realize you were going with the Bestop carrier. Good luck either way.
