As per above posts. Regear, then programmer. Carefull with headers, intakes, and exhaust. Some of them move the power band up the rev range while loosing low end torque.

...to make myself more clear, I was AGREEING with everyone that gears are the way to go, they just do not add power. For sure, they are by far the best bang for the buck.

Yeah the gears don't add power, they utilize the power you have more effectively.

Default Gears x Gears x Gears

I too am of the "Regear" camp.
I know that after I added the Jet Stage 1 chip, and Gibson exhaust there was a noticable improvement in drivability, especially in the lower RPMs.
With that said, I have no lift and stock tires - and I can easily max it out at 100mph with PLENTY of throttle left - except the Rev-Limiter kills it at 100.
With 3.73's or gawd-forbid 3.01's your (automatic ?) transmission will put you at 50mph in first gear, and 85 in second gear... and I'll bet it won't hold 3rd on a flat surface (in stock form) at 85 let alone climb to 100.
I'm thinking about regearing because of the automatic transmission (with no lift and stock tires) just to ease the highway cruising and better down-low torque.
Jeep got the wrong transmission out of the minivans when they borrowed this engine. The manual tranny isn't perfect either - especially in H20.
That's just my .02 cents.
