Dynomax gets my vote. I'll be putting one on as soon as money isn't an issue.

I decided on the JeepSWAG muffler. I have only just received it so it's not installed, but I will explain why I picked this one:

1. Brett Woods (business owner) describes how he was very dissatisfied with the usual suspect of mufflers (Flowmaster, Magnaflow, etc). His chief complaint was they are too loud. So, he decided when assembling his muffler to make it about as quiet as a stock muffler until you really get on it. Then it is supposed to have a nice note.

2. I like that idea because I see no point disturbing people during my trips into the wilderness. Now, if your idea of off-roading is where there are a bunch of four wheelers, motorcycles, in some tiny off-road park, then you may not care what hikers and backpackers think because there are none around. And, though I do play on occasion in those places, they are not what attracted me to Jeep. I like to get away from civilization, and that includes the rude noises of man. So, I like Brett's philosophy on this. And, it is also consistent with the Tread Lightly program.

3. Brett offers a couple other things that are related to this muffler. That is, in order to use his muffler you must relocate the evaporative canister. He sells a kit to do that. And once you've relocated the evap canister and the muffler, he then sells a kit to replace to rear storage cubby with one with more than twice the volume.

When you put 1, 2, and 3 together, I like that solution. I can't wait to get it installed. Meanwhile, he does have some sound clips to listen to, but I find that those don't really give you a feeling for what actually living with your choice will be like ...

BTW: Brett's a forum sponsor (as are a couple other mfg's of mufflers for JKs), so it's always nice to support them for supporting us.

Thanks for the vote. Starting March 1 going through August 31, 2011. We will be offering $75 back on qualifying Dynomax cat-back exhausts. Jeep JK is in there for sure.

Someone wanting to spend money is the reason the US is in decline? That doesn't make any sense.

Default Decline?

Really, guy? Someone wanting to put their paycheck into American companies is the reason the US is in decline? By the way, judging from your profile, you also have added quite a bit to your own Jeep...and possibly by "throwing away perfectly good" whatever. Just because the guy wants his Jeep to sound different is no reason to flame on his post. If you didn't like what he had to say (and the thread title discussed exhaust), then don't chime in...the US is in decline b/c the 18-25 yr old generation that is coming up is lazy and needy. In my opinion, of course.

I am running the Dual Dynomax and it sounds kinda ricey but not real bad, i have noticed a lose in back pressure though so i dont know if any one else running the same has that problem?

But all in all it looks great with the dual chrome tips and muffler, plus it tucks up way inside the jeep!

just my 2 cents!
