Just because the guy wants his Jeep to sound different is no reason to flame on his post. If you didn't like what he had to say (and the thread title discussed exhaust), then don't chime in...the US is in decline b/c the 18-25 yr old generation that is coming up is lazy and needy. In my opinion, of course.
I am sorry to the OP to answer to this off topic subject, but let me start by saying this, I am one of those 18-21 year olds, and I cannot agree with you more! It is truly unbelievable how lazy and unresponsible my generation is! They all feel a sense of entitlement and all they want to do is sleep, drink and smoke pot! I work my butt off just to make payments on my jk and pay rent, and I see kids I graduated with still living off of mom and dad, and partying all the time! Do I have a college degree?? NO! Do I have a work ethic? YES! Everyone else my age just seems like they think a good life just falls into your hands...

Again, sorry for the rant!!

Oh and to be on topic, you don't need to spend a lot for a good sound. I bought a Holley red something or another, but it sounds great! I get lots of complements on it, and people think I spent a lot of money on it! It's just about getting the right one! In all I think I had about $40 in mine!

I know some people on here are skeptical about glasspacks, thinking they will sound like a Honda all riced out. Well ask how many of them have heard one in person and on YouTube doesnt count. I did all that research as well before hand and i can honestl say it sounds great. Not at all ricey.

Least expensive and best sounding...

Go on E-bay, buy a Flowmaster 44 or any other muffler of choice and take it to your local muffer shop and have it welded up. $150.00 tops for everything..I scored my Flowmaster from a friend for free and the welding shop did the work for $20.00. This system sounds fantastic.

First relocated your smog cannister this way the exhaust runs straight back.

The Canned Muffler systems are WAAAaaaaay over priced...

When I was a student working 2 jobs and taking a full schedule I didn't have extra funds to build rigs and run toys like that. Hell I didn't even have the time for that. When someone posts they want to waste money on something like an exhaust so it will sound "cool" then says I am on a BUDGET I have to react, that is what is wrong with america today people buying crap they don't need with money they don't have.

ok were to start on what i think is quite a resentful little post. The fact of the matter is yes i am a student, yes i do have a dirt bike and yes i do drive a jeep. i am lucky enough and very appreciative of the fact that i have these things and for you to scar my fun exhaust threat with such a bad atitude frankly makes me very sad. i take over a full course load at college and everything that had been added to my "toys" has been bought with money i have made from hard and often unpleasant work. so please lets check the judgment and resentment at the door. to make umbrella statements about a generation is simplistic and more a reflection on you then anything else. also please keep in mind that it is me and a large proportion of my generation that is going to use our college degrees and supposedly pathetic work ethic to get jobs and support the economy of this country.
further more i would like to complement your generation on the sterling job you have done so far - the world really is a wonderful place at the moment with the levels of fiscal responsibility your generation has fostered, high levels of credit and underfunding to the education system. YAY for you.

man.. i'd never put a glass pack on a JK. the fiberglass packing inside blows out within a couple years, and then its just a wide open tube.. and sounds like ASS. I'd go with a chambered style exhaust. and actually i dont think its lazy and needy that troubles the 18-21 year olds, its that game World of Warcraft. my little brother who's 21, would almost rather go play WoW then hang out with his fraternity at the university he's attending. my cousin thats 22 just sits at the house playing WoW 24/7. hell, i even have a friend thats my age (28) that quit his full time job, moved back in with his mom, and plays WoW 24/7. SICKENING. I have no idea how people can throw away their entire lives to play with some stupid magical character in a video game.

Hey Dirtman,

I am 21 years old and I am looking to buy a new exhaust too...

I will be using a little bit of the money I earned while on deployment in Afghanistan getting blown up with rockets and mortars.

Hopefully that's not a problem for you...

Well said !!! and thank you for your service. I'm not of the 18-25 gen, I do believe that every generation will complaint about the trailing generation on how lazy, moral degraded etc. they are. Happened to me with my dad and his generation and probably will happen when my kids grow up. I take it as a fact of life
