Default MT wheel center caps rusting from inside?

When I replaced my wheels and tires with MT Classic II and 33's - things looked great. Now less that a year later 2 of my 5 centercaps seem to rusting from the inside out.

I take pretty good care of things and 1 of the 2 is on my spare - (no, I do not use a spare tire cover). The other is now on the front but has been rotated twice...

Anyone experience the same? Thanks.

living in the rust belt can be hard on your jeep. what you are seeing really isn't that big of a deal but i suppose you could always spray the inside with some rustolium. that should help

I had MT wheels on my TJ. 3 out of 4 center caps showed rust on them within about a year and a half, as well as the "beadlock rings" having a dull appearance to them. I just chalked it up to the wheel cleaner I was using having removed some of the clear coat protecting the wheels. Didn't bother me too much.
