Default MTR'S or KM2's

I can get a deal on a set of Goodyear MTR's, but I see alot of hype on here about the KM2's. What would be the best option, mild offraoding, Daily Driver?

i havent persoanlly run either. i do however work at a tire shop, so i can tell you i've seen better results from the bfg as far as daily driver goes. they balance out fairly well (which is odd because they bfg a/t is the worst tire ever to balance). i believe the km2 are supposed to have even better on-road manners than the km1, which werent bad to begin with. so i would say km2.

I have no experience with the KM2. but I do with the MTRs in various sizes. I loved them. Never had trouble with balancing or uneven wear. I do rotate frequently though and I think that is to be expected with an aggressive tire. They were great offroad and tolerable on road. The BFG MTs on the Rubicon suck. bad. They are horrible in the mud, rocks, etc. to me. Mine are wearing ok. If it was me, I would go with the MTRs based on my positive experience with them in the past.

I love my KM2s! Fairly quiet for a MT tire. One of my tires balanced out with no weight too! Installer was surprised... said that didn't happen very often.

I heard a rumor that the MTRs are coming out with a new tread design in the next 6-8 months. I didn't want to wait, so I went out and got the 37" KM2s. I haven't wheeled on them yet, but the on-road manners are great.

Is this from a reliable source? Any more info on this update?

I ran MT/Rs on my TJ and loved them. I will probably go with KM2s when the time comes just because they come in the size that I want.

I think the KM2's absolutely rock! I will run no other tire on my JK (unless somebody gives me some freebies and even then they'd have to be pretty good ones.) However they have some massive sidewalls and do ride a bit stiffer than stock. Some lower the PSI, but that makes them handle a bit sloppy with my suspension. I really like they way they handle at 40 in the front and 42 in the back.

Thanks alot everyone, I had MTR's on my TJ and never had a problem with them, just wanted a comparison. I also Like the Nitto MG's but dont know if I can handle the noise factor.
