MTR'S or KM2's
I have the bfg's and love them they drive good and aren't real loud for such an aggressive tread. My Brother-in-law runs mtrs and he loves them, they are not real loud either and from what i can tell they drive and handel well.
You proabably be find with either one.

I was told this information directly from an individual who is involved with the "big release event" about the new MTR's for Goodyear. He was telling me he was waiting to upgrade his tires until after the new MRT's came out, and I should consider waiting. Well, my new lift was on and new wheels were in the garage so I just couldn't suffer waiting another 6 months for another tire option. I am happy with my KM2's.

Do you if the tread pattern is changing?

A fair number of work trucks in my area that run MTR's have seen chunking out and reduced tire life. The treadlife on Cooper STT is good but the sidewalls are weak.
When my new Ford 3/4 ton diesel 4x4 comes in November it's going to get a set of KM2's. I hate having to chain up at 3:00 AM on a cold December morning!

Generally, the MT/R's are great on rocks...but, they are NOT mud tires...they are optimized for rocks.
They are aggressive enough to do mud better than an AT, etc...but compared to dedicated MUD tires, they fall short.
I don't have much experience with the new KM2's in mud...but the old KMs were better in the mud than MT/Rs, but the old KM sidewalls were weaker than the MT/R's.
If the KM2s are as good/better than the old KMs in the mud, I'd say the KM2's would overall beat the MT/R's.
