Default Mud Grappler Mileage

What's the average mileage you can get out of a set of Mud Grapplers if rotated regularly on a 2 door JK? Also, are they bad about hydroplaning?

It appears that the true road test mileage is an average of 40k. As for your question about the hydroplaning.. at or about 30K, one will really need to keep an eye on these types of tires.. which are actually meant for off roading and again, just depends on how much you're going to actually off road with these. Our Mud Terrains where toast at 28k and tires like these typically do not come with any sort of mileage warranty.. One indication as to the tires longevity, is the added groves in the knobs.. these help with forcing water away from the tread & road.

You said your tires were toast at 28k, were they mud grapplers? And how much did you rotate them if so? Also it's been YEARS since I have ran M/Ts, whats the average mileage people are getting out of them now?

When you say careful, exactly what do you mean? I never use my cruise in the rain anyway. And how long have you had yours? Hows the mileage looking so far?

Mud tires hydroplane with ease. My GY MTRs do it almost every time it rains and it darn near takes me off the road. having a two door obviously doesn't help. So, I don't drive it in the rain anymore. Easy solution.

I'll assume you wheel pretty hard since you want Mud Grapplers. You may get xxx miles out of them, but I prefer to think about offroad effective miles. Worn tires can be pretty useless offroad. Yeah, you can get another 10k miles, but you won't want to wheel with them.

I'm in the camp of use 25%-50% of the tread life, sell them, replace them. If you are this worried about mileage, it's the wrong tire for you.

Mine is a DD that I use on weekends, I've known someone who got TSLs years ago (why i don't know) But I swear the tread went bald in no time flat, when I an M/Ts in the past I ran Maxxis Buckshots. I know M/Ts wear down faster, just wanting a good idea to know whether it's something I want to deal with or not with this particular tire. I'm also looking at KM2s and Trail Grapplers. Just figured I'd find out before buying, I'd rather make an educated buy than just go out and buy something without any research. And you can't find much about Mud Grapplers on Jeeps, most times if you find something, they'll be talking about a 1/2 ton to a 3/4 ton so that mileage wouldn't be accurate for me.
