Default Mud tire choice

Just installed Bushwacker Flat Fender on my JK
now with stock suspension, my JK is good to clear 33 inch tire.

Now I am facing a wide range of Mud tire choices.
So far I narrowed down to the following tires

Good Year MT/R with Kevlar 305 70R16
BFGoodrich KM2 305 70R16

I am planning to use 16x9 steel wheel with 5 inch backspacing.

How do you think about the tire, also, is my wheel choice good or bad.

By the way,Did anyone tried 34 inch tire for the same situation as mine?

The MT/R's have a stronger sidewall and are quieter on the street.

For the wheels, I would go with 4.25 or 4.5" BS. Where did you find 16x9 steel wheels?

Thanks, my preference is also good year MT/R

As for the wheel, I prefer to have it 9 inch wide. but it seems no 16 inch wheel
has 9 inch width. SO I guess I have to use 8 inch width.
I am not sure if this will cause problem because the tire is 12 inch wide

X2 on the BS. On the other hand I would go with the KM2's.

x3 on the BS. And I like my KM2's I'm not sure that MTR's are quiter but I would agree they have a stronger sidewall. The Side wall can be a benifit or a problem. My KM2's aired down have a great pattern at 12psi and are crazy at 7-8psi.

Also I'm running 35x12.5 on 8 inch rims and think its perfect. I was with a guy running 12.50 on 10" rim and rolled his tire off the rim on something I walked through with no problem. So if I were you I'd go 8 over 9, Although this advice all centers around trail riding.

The center of the tire will wear a bit faster with it on a narrower wheel, but it will also hold a bead better when aired down because the tire is being pinched a bit more.

I have 33x13.5x17 IRoks and love them. got 26000 miles on them and holding up great. Im about to up to 36 IRoks at the fist of the year. They pull like crazy in the mud and rocks.

I would really try to find a wheel with at leas 4.75 bs, as far as the tires I think they are both good. I run km2's in my truck, they seem good.
