Default muffler noise

I just installed a rustys offroad exhaust which is a cherry bomb muffler. Went on and sounds great. Now 4 days later im getting a dinging sound when I start driving and then as it sits. Is it normal due to the pieces not being welded and just the metal heating up and expanding. If had done it the whole time I wouldnt be worries but it just started. Its not coming in contact with anything

There might be a bad weld internally that failed after repeated heating and cooling. My favorite way of diagnosing exhaust rattles is to get under there with a dead blow hammer and see if you can cause the noise to occur by rapping on it in different places.

Check the heat shield welds on the drivers side pipe. Engine side of the Y pipe. In front of the cross member.

X2 on the heat shields. Sometimes they just need to be slightly bent away with a pry bar.
