Default Muffler suggestions???

Does anybody have any suggestions on a muffler to replace stock? I want something that will sound good, not like a rice racer. Any suggestions?

Stay away from chambered mufflers if performance is a concearn, stick with straight through mufflers like magnaflow for best HP returns.

Flowmaster sounds good, but is of crappy design (chambered muffler).

will the flowmaster actually hurt performance, or just not give any gains? I only ask because I can get flowmaster locally without having to order.

If you want your JK to sound ricer then use a "glasspack" or "straight through" design. Those work well for engines like the traditional Jeep 4.0L inline 6 or a V8....but with the JK's engine, with less low-end power, it sounds ricer.
The flowmasters sound excellent. I use a super 44.

I used the HushpowerII and really like it. The Hushpower sounds good when going slow and you can barely hear it on the highway.

Thumbs up

Just installed Magnaflow Cat/back exhaust on my 08', had it professionally installed which took total of 25 minutes to complete, installer couldn't believe how well made and how easy to put on this system is,
It has a throatier sound than stock, but not overly loud, once you get the Jeep up to speed in the highway you dont even notice it.
It cost about $500 on the internet delivered to your home and it comes with a no hassle lifetime original owner guarantee
Only problem I have is easing off on the throttle it sounds so nice. Cant comment on mileage improvements as I've only had it on for 3 days.
