Whatever you decide on stick with a single out. The 3.8 needs more back pressure than you think to maximize horsepower. Duals allow too much flow and will not perform as much as singles. Someone on here posted a couple months ago the dyno results from multiple setups. Magnaflow single out gave the most horsepower and torque

I'd do the WOODS KIT, he tested several mufflers.
I did a cherrybomb, and it sounds a little ricey at higher rpms. I have always tried to shift before 2000 rpm's, now it is easier b/c I don't want to sound like a ricer. But my glasspack sounds real good at idle and low rpm's.

If you are considering a new exhaust, now's the time to consider relocating it to a less vulnerable spot. Woods has a series of kits that work together to do this, get the evap canister out of the way, and even enlarge the rear storage tub if you are so inclined. Woods has done extensive evaluation of mufflers regarding sound (see his posts on this forum), and currently offers a couple options (quieter and louder) with his kit. I have the quieter muffler and like the sound. My favorite part of the Woods kit is the new high-clearance pipe that makes it VERY unlikely to be damaged when wheeling.

The muffler's not very pretty, but is well protected in the new location:

View of the high-clearance pipe. This is the only kit I know of offering such a protected location for the pipe.

I previously had a louder muffler (14" Magnaflow) and I liked the sound, but it did have a bit of a ricey note to it that was pointed out to me by friends. The new, larger muffler is quieter, but also seems to have a lower, less-ricey tone that doesn't sound like a honda with a huge exhaust kit. The JK 6-banger is probably never going to sound like a big V8 with any muffler, so set your expectations appropriately.

Lemontwist, what size is the "quieter" muffler that you have. You mentioned that you had a 14" but switched to this one.

The old muffler was the 14" Magnaflow that Woods used to have in his older kit. The new one is an 18" 'Flow' brand muffler.

I'm looking at getting the Magnaflow. Heard a sound clip, and it sounded better than Banks and Flowmaster 9both sounded more ricey) IMO.

I've moved my Eavap cannister up above the rear axle and would like to do two things. One is to move the muffler from it's location in the rear and mount it between the fram rails and the other is to mount an air tank between the frame rails. Loking at the picture on your site it looks like I'd have room for an air tank and the muffler. Am I correct. Of course it would be nice if it sounded better too!

Do you have dyno results available?

chambered exhaust for sound, straight through design for performance. that's all im saying, which direction you all choose is a personal choice.

lol @ jk needs more back pressure though. Read up on yer exhaust tech a bit more buddy.
