My 2011 Wrangler regrets!!!!!!
I used to get 23-24 mpg, I didn't add anything to it, just moved from the Rockies to sea level (Houston) and the fuel economy dropped to 13-15 mpg. I guess you can say I hate living anywhere that would do this (my wife's Toyota Camry Hybrid dropped about the same percent in efficiency). Having said that, for the vast majority of its life the Jeep has had 4 cylinder engines. The V 6, V 8, and exported diesel are all improvements. I already plan to upgrade to diesel one day, not because it will win any drag races but because of the improvement in horsepower and torque. At the end of the day, it's a Jeep. You want better fuel efficiency you need to abide with the laws of physics and start lightening it up or increasing its power.

I had a 2011 also. I had installed some sound, Bumpers, winch, CB and Antenna, along with other mods lifted 2" and JKS quick disco's and 33's.
After I bought mine the wife really wanted one. One day the dealer gave us a great deal on 2013 JKU for her. Long story short, After driving hers I was longing for more power too.
My solution was easier and quicker then I thought it would be. I picked up a 2013 from a Jeep reseller that modifies and sells used jeeps a couple weeks ago. They had a 2013 that only had 6500 miles on it. They put a 4" lift, Moto Metal Wheels and some Nitto Terra Grapplers on it to sell it on their lot. When I stopped in I let them know there were items on the jeep I wanted to keep like the bumper, Winch, CB etc. I ended up pulling my parts myself because he would have taken a week or more due to schedule and was happy to let me take the jeep home for a couple days to get the parts I wanted off.
So now I have a nice 2013 with the power I wanted and a larger lift and all the items I had upgraded (minus my quick disconnects I forgot). Okay there was one draw back....Larger payment, but my insurance went down almost $2 a month LOL.

I agree. I have a 2 door hardtop JK with the 3.8. I supercharged it with a Hesco, I know, I know..... not a RIPP, so don't "RIPP" me a new one. Supercharged is ok, but still not anywhere near good. I had (will explain in a min) a ton of add one. I liked her a lot.
About 2 months ago, I picked up a 2014 JKU, yes 4 door. Kids and all. I switched every single part except the SPod as it is shaped different, the Supercharger of course, and the lift. I didn't want to put rusted springs on a 2014 new Jeep. The 3.6 is awesome in comparison. I get no less than 17 to 18mpg round town with 3.21 gears and 35's. This might change later but for now its good. I have been off road about 3 times and the performance in comparison to the 3.8 is worlds apart. I am first hand experience. I switched over my Fox adjustable external reservoir shod, Teraflex adjustable control arms upper/ lower front and rear (yes, I got the longer 4 door rear uppers as they set me those first for my 2 door yet let me keep the 4 door ones.... lucked out).
Another note, I have 3.73 gears in the 2008. The added 4 door weight with less gearing is still a world apart. As I said it was the absolute best choice I could have ever made and I am happy with it.
P.S. - Anyone wanna buy a 2008 2 door with 57000 original miles and a Hesco attached? How about an SPod. LMAO

with 410s so I hear you on the added weight . but these jeeps realy lie on the sticker when they claim these gas mpg . it might say your getting 21 going down hill but on average not many are getting great gas milage after adding stuff and those who say they are I think are kinda just saying that ! mine says 18 to 19 but I don't realy believe it . Im filling up pretty often
just have to accept it I guess
