My JK will barely push itself down the road!
I have an '07 JK that will not maintain 70 mph up a small hill or against a slight head wind without down shifting (auto trans). I could see a mountain or a 30mph wind but it does it all the time. Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas why or how to fix it? I have 33's and a 3' lift. It did it before with the stock tires also.
Something isn't right. Even upgrading to 33s shouldn't cause the kind of power loss you are describing. I'm assuming you've checked all of the maintenance related items - air filter, plugs, etc. that could affect performance. How many miles do you have on it? What kind of fuel have you been using. You may want to run a couple of bottles of injector cleaner through the engine and see if premium fuel makes any difference. Although I doubt it would be this - a restricted cat convertor causes major power loss.
You are talking small inclines and not crossing the Rockies, right?

You don't really need to chip it. I have a 3.5" lift with 35s and I just put 4.88 in two days ago, and have no problem now top speed is 75 at 35 hundred rpm but has so much power 6th gear accelerates up a hill and can increase speed just fine.
