Default My JK will barely push itself down the road!

I have an '07 JK that will not maintain 70 mph up a small hill or against a slight head wind without down shifting (auto trans). I could see a mountain or a 30mph wind but it does it all the time. Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas why or how to fix it? I have 33's and a 3' lift. It did it before with the stock tires also.

You may want to run a couple of bottles of injector cleaner through the engine and see if premium fuel makes any difference. Although I doubt it would be this - a restricted cat convertor causes major power loss.

You are talking small inclines and not crossing the Rockies, right?
yeah, small hills even just the freeway drive home. I run 87 octane and i also use a lucas fuel treatment sometimes. It did it with the stock 31" tires too. I'll have to check the gears. It only has 43,000 miles. I do regular maint. I am getting ready to do the tranny fluid and front diff, I might even look into changing the transfer case fluid even tho the book says its good for the life of the vehicle. Thx. Keep the ideas coming.

You don't really need to chip it. I have a 3.5" lift with 35s and I just put 4.88 in two days ago, and have no problem now top speed is 75 at 35 hundred rpm but has so much power 6th gear accelerates up a hill and can increase speed just fine.

I'd say 4.10 or 4.56 for 33's.

If your running a 3.21 ratio this would definitely be the problem. Heck, I have a 3.21 ratio on 31's with a 6 spd and it's a dog. Definitely need a re-gear if this is the case.
