Not unless the Statehouse bookstore is now stocking out of print stuff.

I wish they were all on the net like the MGLs are, but you can order a copy of anything from the State House Bookstore.

Its probably a case of the 2 inches being cast in stone, rather than used as an example by someone, who pasted it onto the Net...and it took on a life of its own, etc....I see new "Laws" like that all the time.

2.68" max lift.

Lets see, Throw some 35's on there, 3" taller diameter than 30's...that's 1.5" of lift...Got damn near 1.16" left.

Hmmm....maybe a set of 33's for a 0.5" lift, and a 2.5" BB?

Yeah, woe to all us SWB bastards, stuck with a REAL Jeep, that never gets confused with a Hummer, doesn't bottom-out during steep breakovers off-road, and all that... Remember: A coupe is ALWAYS cooler than a sedan.

Interesting reading. The Rover crowd - that use their trucks- do use the tall skinny scenerio, 235/85/16, 255/85/16, 35/10.50/16. The latter being Interco SSR's, also available in 35/10.50/17, and are radials. A little pricey, but they are siped, which is a huge improvement. A lot of us use the BFGs and have them siped. This helps in all terrains/conditions with no ill effects. Discount tire does it for around $15/tire depending on size. I run 12.50/39.5 (IROKs) on the TJ and 35/12.50/17 (KM2's) on the JK, and 35/10.50 (SSR's) on the D-90. Lastly, the Intercos are heavy due to 10 ply rating. Cheers.

The rover guys I know do like that traditional look.

Tall skinny tires, the pith helmets, khakis, the sounds of snapping Birfields, its all very romantic.

When doing Rousch Creek, or Paragon, etc...they swap on the fatties and get'r done though...otherwise, the other rigs laugh at them, etc.

One skinny tired rover got pulled out of a mud patch by a 4wd Volkswagon Vanagon....on 27" BFG AT ko's, with a winch on its bumper.

BTW - those 4wd Vanagon guys are VERY serious about their rigs....give them a wave, and you're trapped hearing about their viscous couplings and so forth, very ugly situation.

I talked to the local garage and they laughed and said that my calculation is exactly what they are using. I'm calling around tomorrow to see what the statehouse bookstore might have. Thanks for the other info provided and the excerpt for Mass rules. The 2 " thingy the garage said they use as a baseline but they always do the calculation.

Does anyone by chance know the setup on this SEMA rig? The tires look narrower than a 12.5, but I may be wrong. I just thought the setup looked real good.

The tread looks like a SSR Radial Super Swamper.

After that, its too hard to tell without better pics.
