Default need help sorting this all out

stock 09 x
i want to get a tf 2.5 coil lift and to run 35s.
i know i want a new front and rear bumper.
the question is do i go with the bumpers, then sleeves, c gussets, gear (dont know what size yet),then go lift and shocks, then last tires. and where do i add in the skids and all those little goodies?

just need some good wholesome advice. this is my first jeep build btw.

I did all the HP mods first-CAI, Programmer, exhaust, ect. Jeep ran great! Put on 2.5" coil lift and 35" tires and now all future mods have been put on hold till I get new gears!

Thanks for this thread tapp. I'm in the same boat (although I pick my JK up this Friday) and I just don't know where to start. Was thinking a lift and 35's but I've got 3.21 gearing and a 6 speed. I'm afraid of how that will work out. I know I'd need to regear but couldn't pull that off right away.

I'm interested to hear what the guys with experience have to say, as this JK is a far cry from my old 88 YJ.

What size did you upgrade to? I am thinking 4.66 but mines a dd and take it through mud and fire lanes. Not rock crawling. So I need good hwy speed still

Your welcome sir. I just have all the thing I want to do it mind it's just the order to do them in that's so flipping difficult to decide.

I did the same as Echo. Lift and Tires, then bumpers, then the winch. Now, I am waiting on doing gears as well.

Around town it isn't bad with 4.10's and 37's. But hauling all of your gear, up a mountain well, sucks.

I would do everything else but gears first. You say you want 35's now, but that will soon change to 37's. Which will require different gearing.

The thing about adding heavy bumpers to a otherwise stock Jeep is that you will have sagging issues with the suspension. I personally would do lift and tires first and build from there
