Default Need a new front bumper

My stock from bumper was recently schmooshed a bit. Nothing major, it basically did what it was supposed to do, and that's protect the rest of the Jeep. I've been debating about which gradual steps I was going to take to modify it, and this seems like as good a place to start as any now. Budgetary constraints being what they are, this one was one of the more cost effective ones I've seen. I'm VERY new to these mods. Is this a good bumper, decent price, etc? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

thanks

do you have big tires? that might look silly on stock tires.

I don't think it would look silly, but you could get the Rugged Ridge XHD stubby bumper for about $100 less & possibly even cheaper on eBay. Looks similar too.

Part of my problem is I can't find a local place to see these things in person. I'm always reluctant to by something from a picture on the internet. There seem to be NO 4x4 shops near me in Jersey.

X2
Depending on what 'look' you are looking for, the XHD wouldn't be a bad choice. Check it out online, you'll see that it is fully customizable. Start with a stubby, and build it depending on how 'you' want it to end up...

Wink

I'll look for the XHD on-line. While looking, I also found this one which is actually reasonably local to me.

The XHD is a fantastic choice. I have used and abused mine, winching out vehicles I should have never hooked up to, and it still looks new if I clean and armorall it. I had it when I just had the rubi take off tires and rims, and it looked great. I just can't say enough good things. One tip, when you get it, take a small screwdriver and pop the silver RR logo off. It will come off eventually anyway, and is kind of stupid looking anyway. The D rings on the front are REALLY solid, and while I haven't done it yet, look like a perfect way to mount a tow bar with some slight modification to the bar. Good luck on your choice. On a side note, if you leave your stock bumper out in the sun, it will probably regain it's shape.

I have found it useful to go to a local jeep gathering. Whether it be a trail ride, trip to Rausch, or a local meet and greet. You can also get experienced info about the products, manufacturer and vendor.

OR-Fab Front Stubby w/ Fogs and Hoop, winch mount on top – Just bought one for $420 shipped. So quality, well built, amazing finish, can't say enough good stuff about them. Cheaper then than the RR China made stuff and it's made in Arizona. Finish looks so nice, I love my front and rear.
