Need a new front bumper
Thanks for the suggestions. This forum is amazing.
I'm kind of partial to anything made here rather than China. Or-Fab fits that requirement nicely.
Looks like more research is in order.

Hollywood,
The bumpers you like are great for certain applications (street & mall crawling). You'll find these bumpers second hand for cheap because the original owners recognized the front tires hit the bumper when wheeling.
Ken,
I don't have the Rock Hard bumper, but I do know that it is a really good bumper for most purposes. I looked at that bumper when I was upgrading to a winch bumper and decided to go with one with a little more recess (ORFAB #83207). With my choice I had to forgo my fogs for a little more airflow, which is not a hard choice when you live in Arizona.
In your research you might want to look at online videos of the type of wheeling you like to do (there are a ton on youtube). These forums are great for information, but you find that some of the information is not that accurate.

Thanks, good advice. At least for now, it's more cosmetic than anything else. My wheeling is limited to some sand, some mud, some rocks, but nothing particularly radical. It's not a daily driver, I have a company truck for that, but I do take it out of state, sometimes as far as 800 miles, so some comfort and road worthiness is also important. I know it sounds lame, but I do like the look of the rock crawling bumpers.
I'm well aware that taking anything you read in forums can be suspect, but from what I've seen in the couple of weeks here, this is a pretty knowledgeable group. I hope to be able to participate and contribute eventually, not just pick your brains.

I've got an or fab stubby stinger and love it. Strong and beautifully welded. Don't be embarrassed about buying a bumper for the looks, these are our drivers and not purely built for function man.
Welllll, I hadn't looked to closely at the damage until today. I may be waiting a while on the bumper. The fender is also trashed, and the steering wheel is no longer centered. Now I have to get State Farm involved. Never loan your jeep to your kid. Knucklehead.
Thanks for all the responses though!
