I changed from 4.10 to 4.88 gears and went from 13 to 17 MPG. I think it is because my RPM's were below the power band of the 3.8 L engine when running on the highway.

FYI~

If I re-grear what would I be looking at?

Also how much it generally cost?
9mpg. it all depends on how you drive. I get 14 sometimes 15 city with my 35s and 5.13s. I squish that bug under my gas pedal a lot though.

I like to drive in the left lane... you have probably seen the rear of my jeep before. I am the guy on interstate that is in front of the pack of speeders. You know the one that you are glad is going faster than you so you wont get a ticket. I recently went about 100 miles to go wheeling. It was all interstate, and I drove 80-85+ the whole way. I got about 11mpg. I thought it was pretty good for a jeep on 35s going that fast.

regearing cost all depends on local labor charges, you should call around your area to price different shops and see what kind of rep they have. It cost me 1200 with parts and labor. Some payed more, some less.
