Glad I found this thread. Torn between the JW speaker 8700 evo II and the truck lite head lights. Looking for the brightest most effective combo for my headlights and fog lights

The Truck Lites are a big improvement from stock, but they're still not a great headlight. the JWs look very good for an LED. When I first got my Truck Lites I loved them, and then I eventually realized their shortcomings and upgraded to Morimoto Sealed 7 Projected HIDs from The Retrofit Source. If you're not afraid of the cost I'd say definitely spend the money on JWs or true projected HIDs. Vision X also just dropped a new LED headlight. Click image for larger version

I just ordered the TL and now I'm kinda regarding not looking some more! I do have a budget and JW Speaker were out of my price range. About how much do those HID cost? I looked on the Retrofit Source website and there were do many options.

I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied with your TLs. I was for a while and I would've stayed satisfied if a buddy hadn't convinced me to try projected HIDs. My setup was like $475 and then with a coupon code it brought it down to $400. They have a code going right now 'APRILJK'. They're more if you want them to assemble the lights, but honestly there's no need for that. Even I was able to take on the assembly and it was my first time doing anything like this. All you have to do is trim the shroud with a dremel, epoxy that on, and seal the lens. Anyway, in post 8 of this thread I broke down all of the options.

Thanks etl330! I feel like beating myself for not looking more. I didn't know about the HID till I saw this thread yesterday. I paid $400 for my TL and they're actually gonna be here tomorrow. I guess I'll give them a try first. But the HID look really awesome!

The TL will still be night and day better than stock. Don't lose any sleep over the decision tonight because tomorrow you'll put them in and turn them on and I'm sure you'll be plenty satisfied lol

Darn its really for the headlight + fog combo but I'd heard it was working for just the heads of just the fogs. They other day they had a 20% off sale because their server was down for the weekend. Maybe give them a ring or keep an eye on their Facebook? They do some good sales pretty regularly
