Default New lift

This is my first jeep so I decided to tackle the 3" Black Diamond lift solo in the garage. The first attempt ended up with a trip to the emergency room and six stitches. Two weeks later and armed with a set of mechanics gloves I dive in. Many hours later (4 a.m.) it is done except for the alignment. Not to bad for not having turned a wrench on a car in 20 years.

I took it off road today and all was well except for a "clunking" noise that I guess is from the front adjustable track bar. Its torqued to specks but there is still some fore and aft play, maybe 1/16th of an inch. It's fine on the street and tracks straight. Also two of the springs are still squeaking which is starting to get on my nerves. They are seated properly and I have heard that they will eventually stop but how long will it take? Any comments are greatly appreciated. Teach me 'ol wise and experienced Jeepers.

Not sure on the trackbar noise, shouldn't be any play in it. The squeaking noise has me wondering. Did you re-install the OEM rubber spring isolators? There will be a settling period, especially if you didn't turn the spring and seat it into the spring pocket at the bottom, axle end. That should end fairly quickly, especially if you have wheeled it since. If you did install the isolators, maybe check to see if the springs are properly seated in the upper pocket and centered on the isolators.

Nukeman,

Thanks for the reply. I did reinstall the isolators and seat the springs. Is there anything else I should check? The play in the track bar seems to be coming from the hemi joint and it is really minor.
