The fact that you were from out of town is why you got the ticket. They know you'll just send in your money.

Do you think that maybe he was doing his job? And you just got caught. We do pay them for enforcing the laws. I know I know I'm alittle one sided because I was one for 17 years. But look what they do for a job. Giving out tickets is just part of it. Make sure you write a letter with your check telling your side of the story. Sometimes it helps get it reduced.

With the bigger diameter tires, you probably were going faster then the speedo said

I got the ticket on the way up there with stock tires. No tickets on the way back. I did 5 under the whole way back.

I agree with you Rupedog. I have worked as a street patrol and on the police desk for a few years (15 total and still going) and the complaints you get about "people FLYING down our street and almost killing our puppies and children" vs the "don't you guys have anything better to do" and the always funny "trying to fill a ticket quota" complaints always amused me. My judgement to justify a ticket (officer discretion differs by the way) is whether the speed or the conditions caused a danger or hazard to others. Otherwise I didn't write, just a warning unless they threw some major attitude my way, then... GUARANTEED TICKET!

Well heres the thing I was nice and everything I was yes sir no sir and he rushed the whole thing he dident care to hear why I was so called "speeding". Iv paid tickets without saying a word cause I know I was in the wrong but I know this time there is no way I was going that fast. I just dont understand I mean would either one of you guys pull someone over and walk up and just ask for driver info then say well im gonna write you a ticket without asking any questions? Then just give a blank look when asked a question? This guy acted like a robot not a person.

When I was in training they taught you to get the DL and reg. first. Then asked them if they knew they were speeding or what ever. At that time if the person wanted to say something I listened. But you have to remember, I have heard all of it before. You also believed it or not get lied to. So depending on how fast they were traveling, in my case I almost always wrote a ticket for 15 MPH over the speed limit... If under 15, then it had to do with whether or not I felt that they were being honest or I felt they would not learn from a verble warning. It isn't against the driver. It was my job. The reason he may have been in a hurry is because he had got another call. Maybe he being humane had had a fight with his wife and wasn't in the mood to listen because he had other things on his mind. Which he shouldn't but it happens. Now I have babbled on here alittle to long, this thread is about Jeeps. If you would like to know more feel free to write me an Email I'm truely sorry you got nail. The price of a ticket could be a Jeep payment these days. But remember where we would be with out cops. later David PS. I have been out of it for about 7 years.
