Default New tires

I have a 2013 jk unlimited with 3.73 gears. I'm getting a 2.5 inch coil lift installed in two weeks. I also already have 17x9 xd hoss wheels with 4.5 inches of backspacing. What tire and size would work best as a daily driver and light offroader in the mountains?

I have the same setup. I'm getting 285/70/r17.

I have a 2.5" coil lift and run 33" tires (Nitto Terra Grapplers). I personally think this is great set-up with this gear ratio. You can run 35" tires, but 3.73 might be a little high. Most run 4:10s or 4:56.

I love my Goodyear Duratrac's 285/70/17

When they wear out I'm going to 315/75/17's

I love my falken Rocky Mountains. It's my DD and I take it to the trails here in the northwest. They haven't left me stranded and are quite on the road and have great manners. The duratracs are a great option as well I have had them as well, but as I put the miles on them they got loud like a helicopter. They never left me stranded either. I just love how quite the falkens are and the haven't stopped surprising me yet. By the way I am running 35s on a 3.5 inch lift with lots of room could have put 37s on. Heck I drove around with the 35s and no lift for a couple of days. I wouldn't wheel it that way but it did fine around town and the speed bumps.

I have 3.73 gears in my 2010 JKUS and Duratrac 315/70R17 is a pant load for the weaker 3.8 engine. Flashpaq helped a little but... jeesh!

Maybe new gears this winter?

Try heavy 37 E rated Toyos MT's with 4.11's on the 3.8. Only upside; I can go 85+ on highway in 3rd at only 3100 rpm's. lol
