Default New Tires Question

Since I added a 265/75/16 M/t to my otherwise stock jeep(the tires that where on there before where 225/75/16) ........

Do I need to have my computer flashed(i think is what it is called) and would it hurt anything if i didnt.....

thanks

i doubt you NEED it but it couldnt hurt. the dealer can do it up to a size 32 tall tire. i believe that is what you said you have? that way your speedometer will be correct. i went to 33's from 225 (28 inches) and my speedometer is about 5mph off.

As mentioned, your dealer can only calibrate your speedo for 32" tires or 255's. You will want something like an ACCU PRO to set your speedo.

Is this something I buy and install? If not, why can't I find a shop that will do this so I don't have to spend a couple hundred bucks (or better yet, someone on Jk-Forum who lives in the OKC area!)?

Also, will the Accu Pro take care of all computer functions based on road miles (eg, odometer, trip computer, etc)? If so, then is recalibration at the dealership to new tires needed, or is it superfluous?

Or am I just totally ignorant about this? (Sorry if that's the case).
