Default New Tires.... Tonight...

So heres the deal. I have a 2009 Stock 2dr. I need to buy new tires and will be doing so tonight. I have Spidertrax spacers on and I will be using the Stock 17" wheels. Im going to go with BFG A/T's and will be buying all 5. Heres where the problem comes. Im looking at 285/70/17 and 305/65/17. Whats the difference? The price on the 305 is like $2 more. So if you could please give a bit of insight...

Search on 'metric tire conversion' or calculator or anything similar.

The calc at 4lo.com shows this:

285/70/17 = 32.7 x 11.2
305/65/17 = 32.6 x 12

Then do a search for that tire in those sizes and see if you can find out what the 'actual' heights are. I'd guess 31.5 or so...

Well, for one thing, according to BFG's site, the 305's only come E-rated. Do you want E's?

FWIW, I had E-rated BFG's on two of my 3 Tacoma's and they were good... but I just put DuraTracs on my JKU last week (E's) and they are way better.

In case you haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Thanks for pointing this out.. Is there that noticeable of a difference between D's and E's? Or is this just a case of do I want a little wider of a tire for $2. If so is there any advantage of a tire that is maybe an inch wider...
