Default New Tires and Wheels

I searched everywhere on here and could not find a thread that answers this for me. I am a complete newbie or complete idiot, depending on how you want to look at it.
I have stock 16" steel wheels and 225/75r16 tires on my 4dr 2007. I want to eventually end up with 35's and new wheels. If I am correct the stock wheels are 16x7, I am looking at more than likely staying with 16" wheels, I guess I like the look of more rubber than wheel. Am looking at some that are 16x8, the HELO HE842 Wheel. Question, will my current (small) tires fit on the wider wheels?
Second Question, Once I have the $$ for the lift and 35's, will a 35x12.50r16 tire fit on the new 16x8 wheels?
Third Question, will a 2.5 BB work to clear this wheel and tire combo with no problems?
As far as how much and extreme I go with my JK is 0%.. Just got it a month ago or so. But I do intend too eventually.
Also, I have 6spd manual and 4.10 gears. Will that be good for the 35's?
I also want to add a new exhaust and Air Intake to boost performance a bit.
Any thoughts, comments and advise would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thanks, and this SITE ROCKS........

I apologize if I put this in the wrong section.

thats a little wide of a tire for a 16x7, but on 16x8 it should be fine. your gears will be fine too for awhile. A lot of people run 4.10s on 35s, including me. dont waste your money on an air intake, they don't give you anything for what you pay. new exhaust wont help much either but does sound better.

If you go to the tire manufacturer website, the tire specs will be listed for their different models. One of these is rim width. Look at what you currently have and what tire you want to get. Make sure that the rim width that you buy will work with both tires. Thats the safest way.

edit:
Different manufactures rate their tires differently.

Would a half inch wider rim make that big a difference?

will a half inch wider be that bad? My opinion...Yes. Now if you were going the other way and trying to squeeze a bigger tire onto a smaller rim by half inch width not a biggie, plenty of people do that, but going the other way I think your putting yourself at risk of an easy blowout...but thats just my opinion, I'm curious what others think
