Newbie needs advice!
Hello all! As i recently posted, earlier this week I was fortunate enough to purchase my dream ride. Of course it goes without mentioning too much that its a wrangler. As it sits now its a stock 2014 unlimited sport automatic, but that obviously needs to change. What I'm here to ask is a little advice for upgrading it a little. Im not one to do a ton of off-roading, and i drive around in suburban philadelphia which is a traffic nightmare. Im looking for something that not only is somewhat affordable, but also will give it a better stance. I was originally thinking of a 2'' lift with upgrading the tires a little. Again I'm not looking to off road a lot, just enough to give it a true jeep look without breaking the bank too much.
Thank you in advance!

Your best bet will be an inexpensive Budget boost and some 33" tires. These are pucks that go above your springs that will raise and/or level your ride. you'll maintain the factory ride and handling but loose some articulation off road. Another option is to get an coil spring lift 2.5" or so with shocks. Your ride may change depending on the quality of the kit. Good Luck with you new Jeep!
Thank you for the advice! 2.5'' lift is where I want to be at for the most part, Im not worried about the ride so much as the practicality for where I live which is far from many good trails. Thanks again!
There are two threads stuck to the top of this modified area, Faq's and Thoughts on Lifts. May be more information than you are ready for, but it gives a great over-view and will very likely answer a dozen questions you hadn't thought to ask. (and probably give you a dozen more questions to ask for clarification or more information.)
And as noted, a small BB should be a good place for you to start. A spacer is pretty much a spacer, so compare the other components that come in the kit.

2.5" spring lift is a great lift w/o breaking the bank IMO. You can go up to 35" tires which will also give you the wider stance depending on tire size. Also, if you are handy and have the tools, you can have it on in a few hours yourself and save the $$$. For me, this has been the best mod so far and completely changes the look of the jeep. Good luck!

I will call bs on this, there is no way you are going to get 1.5" by swapping rubi coils on a jku. For that to happen your jeep would have to be 1000lbs+ sprung weight lighter then a rubi. In reality even if comparing a soft top to hard top you are looking at maybe around 400lbs.
My stock springs were 14 in front and my rear springs were 54. The Rubicon springs that I got were 19 front and 60 rear. Check out the comparison of the different jeep spring rates before calling bs. I have seen some 2 door jks use springs off of a jkur and get 2"
